Africa records 9,545 cases. 442 deaths, 848 recoveries

As at Monday April 6, 2020, a total 9,457 cases of COVID-19 have been reported by 51 member states of the Africa  Union.

Updates tracked by Africa CDC Media, a chat group by journalists interested in public health issues in Africa, show that no fewer than 442 deaths and 848 recoveries have also been recorded in the continent.

Northern (4,204; 321; 420): Algeria (1,320; 130; 90), Egypt (1,173; 78; 247), Libya (18; 1; 0), Mauritania (6; 1; 2), Morocco (1,113; 71; 76), Tunisia (574; 18; 5)\

Currently, the Northern region has the highest number of cases with 4,204, followed by the Southern region with  1,757, Western region with 1,741, Central region with 917 cases and Eastern region with 841 cases.
