Uganda distributes non-medical items to institutional quarantine centres

KAMPALA, Uganda, May 13, 2020 –   The Republic of Uganda today announced the distribution of non-medical  to its institutional quarantine centers in 30 districts.

The distribution was flagged off by the the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health, Dr. Diana Atwine.  The items were received as donations from various stakeholders in support of the COVID-19 response.

Each centre will receive;

50 mattresses, 50 blankets, 50 pairs of bedsheets, 500kgs of maize flour, 15 cartons of wheat flour, 50 pieces of washing basins, 40 litres of cooking oil, 250k gs of beans, 14kgs of salt, 250kgs of sugar and 30 cartons of drinking water.

Other items include: 4 cartons of washing soap, 2 cartons of bathing soap, 15 litres of Jik, 20 litres of hand sanitizers, 150 pairs of hand gloves, 30 pieces of nose masks, 160 liters of detergents, 250kgs of rice

Currently, there are 1,103 individuals under quarantine in the country.
